How God sees us versus how man sees us

This is an interesting subject for me to take on as a blogger. I have decided to shed some light on this subject because it is very important for everyone to grasp the understanding in order to live a complete and purpose driven life. To approach this subject head on, let me begin by saying that God looks at a man’s heart and judges him, but man looks at the outward appearances of another man to judge. God created us in his image, so he knows and understands first hand every aspect of human beings. Man relates to another man based on his own experiences and interpretation of dealing with himself, God (if he has a relationship with him), others, and things.

The way God sees man and the way man sees another man is vastly and distinctively different. God’s views of man are inherently uncompromised and untainted. His views stands on the notion of absolute truth and love. However, man’s view of another man is based off of obscure perceptions that can be falsifiable, and oftentimes selfish. The nature of man judging another man is compromised because of man’s sin nature. It takes God’s divine guidance and intervention for man to get judging another man right. As a result of man’s sin nature, God provided man with his Holy Spirit as our helper and advocate in this regards. One of the Holy Spirit’s purpose in our lives is to convict and correct mankind.

Nevertheless, the ultimate purpose of the Holy Spirit is to empower us to live like Jesus. Jesus said in the book of John 16:7-8:
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:” From reading and understanding this quote, it is clear that all mankind should seek God for the release and infilling of the Holy Spirit in their personal lives. In this way, man can view another man through God’s own eyes instead of his own. It is also necessary for man once he receives the Holy Spirit to empower God’s work through him by reading the words of God daily. The Bible tells us in the book of Matthews 4:4
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Mankind is born of spirit and flesh, therefore, it is important to feed our spirits with the words of God in order to keep our fleshly and sin nature under control. When our sin nature is under control, it is then one can see to judge another man justly.

In conclusion, man should not try to judge another man through his own eyes. This is God’s job. If mankind is called to judge another man, he should make sure that he consults with God through his Holy Spirit, reading his word, and seeking him in prayer. The Bible also warns us about being a judge of others. In the book of Matthew 7: 1-3, it states:
“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” God is very serious about judging others period. He is very just and committed in making sure that every man gets what he deserves. Be and stay blessed!
